September 14th, 2008 by fipink

Love Is A Force Of Nature

Just saw Brokeback Mountain..for the 3rd time…4th time…I don’t remember…but what I know is, it haunts me, every time I watch. Thbrokebackonesheet45_1

My mind plays out the scenarios. The feelings lingers. The images, the gestures, the silences, dazzle. The unexpected emotional rides it has given to me enthralls me.

It brings chills to my spine. It gives me feeling like a knot in my throat as if once I relaxed I would burst in tears.

The simplicity of the story was pictured with such realism.
"Tell you what. The truth is…Sometimes I miss you so much that I can hardly stand it." So simple. So honest. So immediate. So true. Even though it is spoken by a man to another man.

Gentle melodies with a slight of pessimistic tone which played melancholically throughout the film were so devastating…
The loneliness, the longing, the loss, the regret, the pain, the anguish, the grieve and everything in it were just so heart-breaking…

Love is a force of nature, it moves your heart.

Ho Lan Pai Fan Shu….Opppss…Feng Shui

July 21st, 2007 by fipink

It has been such a long time since I’ve last written in my
blog. No mood…no inspiration…no time…no money?? !! I think I have just lost the interest to blog
or I’d rather to read blog… or rather  just an excuse for my stagnant mind to write…a
personal embarrassing shame for an educator who is supposedly know how to skillfully use her mind as a powerful tool

And then who unclogs my mind and makes me so keen to blog
tonight?  It is my housemate, Christine,
my inspiration.

Below is our conversation (in Cantonese) a couple of days ago. It happened in the middle of the
night when I was flipping the TV channels aimlessly.

Xtine:   Pink Pink, I
went for a ‘Ho Lan Pai’(poker cards) reading at Serdang
            today.

Pink:    Hah?? !!You
mean Tarot reading is it?

Xtine:  No…no…no. ‘Ho
Lan Pai’ to play chor dai di or gamble that kind.

Pink:    Oh oh oh…I see. Why did you go for the
reading? You wanna see if your boyfriend suits you or  not leh? Or you wanna see if you still got ‘yan
yuen’ in the future?

Xtine:   No-lah! I found that my life is not too well
recently. A lot of predicaments with my *jobs and working places…and these
people I’m working with seem to have bad-mouthed about me…and I’ve been struggling
with my business.

*Xtine works as Amway sales agent and beautician in daytime and  as Carlsberg girl in a restaurant nearby in the
night.

Pink:    Oh…then what the ‘Ho Lan Pai’ teller said
about you?

Xtine:   He asked me to rearrange some of the stuff
in this house. I cannot put that washing machine in the *wet kitchen, as the
water (‘sui’ = money) flows away even before it enters the house. The pails
cannot put near to the door. The mop cannot be placed up side down. The Ikea plastic basket (to put plastic bags)
cannot be hanged on the wall. The dining table must not be in the middle of
living room…and then we have to put 4 dining chairs as there are 3 of us living in this house. If 4 ppl then 5 chairs.

*Our apartment’s wet kitchen is somewhat like a railed-to-the ceiling
balcony…I don’t know how to describe.

Pink:    Wow…the teller so ‘geng’??!! He
can see your furniture arrangement just from the cards???!! Why 4 chairs for 3? For whom that extra chair?

Xtine:  Not at all-lah. I told him a little bit. Dunno for whom…I didn’t ask.

Pink:    Oh…why the pails cannot be near the door
and the plastic basket must be on the floor?

Xtine:   I’m not sure about the pails but if the
plastic basket is hanged, works cannot be done completely also means ‘erm xiong
erm log’ or 5354 (in Cantonese).

At that very moment, I really wanted to laugh out
loud. However, I just kept it cool as if it made sense.

Xtine:   And one more thing, I wanna hang two red
rags on the window in the   kitchen.

Pink:    What??!!! Red cloth as curtain?!

Xtine:   No no no…small one will do.

Then I passed her a cloth (the one to wash
dishes ) with
red stripes and said…

Pink:    This one is red, can-kua!!

Xtine:   Cannot-wor, must be really red.

OMG!

Xtine:   I’ll ask my bf to carry away the washing
machine (it’s hers, I don’t      mind), I can hand-wash the clothes. Can the dining
table be placed there?

She pointed at a  corner of the living room.

Pink:    Oh …I want to put sofa there. I’m gonna
get a sofa set very soon. Why not there
?

   I
pointed at another corner of the living room.

Xtine:  Here also cannot…as the dining table will be
‘ngam-ngam’ opposite the   front door.

Pissed!

Pink:  Then put where?

Xtine: … …

Pink: I’ll talk about it to Kenny. We’ll figure
it out.

These are a few
rearrangements she did

January 31st, 2007 by fipink

Be My Man

January 5th, 2007 by fipink

Yeah…I got to watch Jeff live after 13 years. Watching Jeff and without
paying for it was the luckiest thing that happened in my life. I have to say
that I was not one lucky girl as I had never won any contest, lucky draw or
whatsoever… not like Pooi, I’m still jealous of her winning the tickets to
watch Coldplay.

Actually the story goes like this… Jeff had his new album
out and he was coming to M’sia to promote his new album. And by chance, I found out that
the way to get the free tickets was to email AEC Music Station. So from the 1st
day they announced it, I started sending emails. I sent everyday…on some days I
even sent like… 2 or 3 times. I began to panic on the day before the showcase, as
I still had not received any reply from them. I knew that I couldn’t afford to
miss this chance, so I sent them another email in English (the emails before
this one were all in Chinese) as I was afraid if I was using a different
version of Chinese input program that couldn’t be viewed by them. In my email,
I was really really desperate and
pathetic …hehe…by telling them how much I want to go, how much I like Jeff, how
much they would be appreciated if they give me the tickets. Then in the evening
when I was about to lose hope, I received their call. Ha…

The showcase was great and satisfactory, although he didn’t
sing many songs. He still looks young at  40. Yes…he’s 40 years old this year. However, my bf said he looks gay. I think he’s just jealous him. After
watching him, I fell sick that night itself…for one whole damn week. I mean,
really sick with high fever, cough, running nose, sore throat, stomach upset
then turned into diarrhea…

Back For Good

December 3rd, 2006 by fipink

Wow…TAKE THAT is back for good, the most popular teen pop
sensation1117592m_2 back in 90’s is back!!! Yes yes yes…I’m talking about the most
successful British band since The Beatles in UK, Take That( as BBC described)! The
groups is finally reformed as four piece without Robbie Williams. They came up
with a new album called ‘Beautiful World’ which shot to the top of the charts immediately.
I’ve seen the music video and I’ve heard their new single. Yvonne, Mark is
still so cute at this age! I still remember we were so crazy about him. SookJeng, Howard looks no much differences…still
looks so cool! And Jason Orange still looks awkward…sorry if you’re his fan. I’m
going to grab their album now! Do u fancy one, Yvonne?

You know what I did last weekend

August 30th, 2006 by fipink

It was a week-long holiday, so I headed down to KL to have some fun like I always do during school holidays.

Arrived at Pudu around 5.30pm on Friday. It was raining elephants and cows and the traffic was as heavy as the rain. My poor baby who was still sick with flu and cough had to wait for me under the rain due to the traffic at Jln Pudu. Felt so ’sum tong’ when I saw him got all soaked up. Then spent the evening hanging around at USJ and Kelana with my baby.

Got up early on Saturday morning as I had a date with SJ and KF for a shopping spree at 1-U. We shopped, talked and ate…It’s been quite some time we didn’t hang out like that since the 3 of us are staying far apart; I’m at the North, SJ at the Central while KF at the South. So we decided to catch up again for a Karaoke session in the night or morning (12am) after Eason’s concert.

Arrived at Bkt Jalil around 7.30pm, and I could already see the stadium was already packed with fans from far. While waiting for the SJ’s arrival, I managed to walk around the stadium and catch a glimpse of the passers-by. Some were dressed casually, some dressed like going to prom, some dressed like going for clubbing, some dressed like he/she was so busy with the kids until no time to comb the hair. I even saw a lady who looked as old as a great-grandma lining up at the VVIP entrance. BRAVO!! After an entrance and another, I finally found SJ.

The concert started at 8.30pm, not a second late. I was surprised by Eason’s punctuality; as the concerts I went before were always 30 minutes or even an hour late. The 1st hour was kinda boring as the songs he sang were all new and unfamiliar. We even noticed that other audiences were as bored as us. The crowd was back to its groove when Eason started to sing his older songs and love songs. 3 hours was like a second, the concert came to an end. SJ and I didn’t even stay for the encore ( I don’t know if there was an encore) as we had to rush to The Curve to catch up with KF who had been waiting for us an hour ago.

By the time we arrived at The Curve, it was already 12.30am. So I did the math, we still have 3 1/2 hours to sing our heart out. It was so fun singing karaoke, I always like singing as it takes away my sleepiness.

I spent my whole Sunday with my Kenny. We woke up pretty late and spent hours lingering and chatting. I love Sunday morning with him. Feel so relaxed and stress-free. Then headed to Subang Parade for Sakae sushi and I paid the bill as a reward to Kenny for his time and energy, from taking me from the bus station, fetching me here and there, escorting me to his apartment to waiting for my coming home on early Sunday morning. Thanks baby, SJ, KF and of course SJ’s honey for the weekend.
